Diagnose the stage that failed
A failed activation request and a failed local reconciliation need different responses.
Start with status
Inspect the GUI or JSON status output for pending state and safe last_error and last_error_stage diagnostics. Confirm the endpoint, retained identity and operator service authority. Do not paste activation credentials or private state into public issues.
fwconsole domaintains status --jsonRemote failure
A rejected or unreachable provisioning response leaves the previous known-good local state intact. Confirm HTTPS, the complete URL, the correct service and current operator entitlement. Ordinary Activate refuses a different token while retained authorisation exists; deliberate replacement uses confirmed Reactivate.
Local conflict or interruption
A local failure can leave newly authorised state pending. Inspect ownership and actual FreePBX configuration before retrying. Unexpected drift, unowned conflicts or malformed protected state must not be bypassed by deleting files. Fix the reported prerequisite, preserve identity and use a controlled retry.
Symptom-led checks
| Symptom | Inspect first | Do not |
|---|---|---|
| Activation cannot reach the service | Complete HTTPS URL, valid certificate and provider availability | Disable TLS verification or append an assumed API path |
| Different token refused | Retained activation state and whether deliberate Reactivate is appropriate | Erase the signing key to force first-use binding |
| Ownership conflict | Actual native object and recorded fingerprint; administrator changes | Delete the ledger or silently adopt the object |
| Pending after interruption | Safe last_error stage and recorded original/pending evidence | Treat every pending state as success |
| Search blocked or queued | Owned context, nonce, session quota and shared limiter | Retry automatically or use a second limiter file |
| Emergency status is not registered | Explicit provider confirmation and current assignment authority | Map a successful HTTP response to confirmed registration |
